Alfred Klitgaard
Alfred Klitgaard was originally trained as a cabinet maker, but he gave up furniture and threw his love into small boxes and other useful items made of wood. It is characteristic of Klitgaard's jewelry boxes and all the other boxes he makes that they are not designed in strange shapes - they are just square, as boxes usually are. Boxes in absolute top quality. One of AK's special features of craftmanship are the wood-hinges made without the use of visible metal.
AF's has collaborated with various danish enamel-artists. FX. Bodil Eje and Maria Viktor.
Maria Viktor b. 1932.
Since the 1970s, Maria Viktor has worked with a wide range of enamel works, ranging from jewelery, bowls, boxes, mirrors and pictures to large wall decorations. The working basis is mainly copper, and the applied enamel colors are burned several times at high temperatures. V.'s starting point is the structures and patterns of nature, which are reflected in the works as organic, undulating shapes or abstractions, where larger vertical and smaller horizontal band shapes in contrasting colors overlap each other. The motif can be controlled by the work process itself, or a sketch template is used, where the motif is cut out in paper shapes that are followed when cutting the metal.
